I shot images for the boot barn truck a few years back and I recently came across these images of the truck. I shot the images of the dangling legs wearing boots at the boot barn headquarters and the image on the back of the truck was shot on a remote street somewhere near the 15/215 fwy (or maybe it was the 210/215 fwy?)

We just finished shooting some new ads for Buckle-Down’s seatbelt belts. The shoot was at A-1 Automotive in Rancho Cucamonga and featured a number of classic cars (and a few junkers for authenticity) The belts are authentic seatbelts from old cars so it was great to shoot at an automotive shop with some restored cars and some left for dead cars.

We photographed the entire Troy Lee Designs Helmet Collection to rotate so the entire helmet can be viewed by customers. The helmet has 24 individual images to give it a smooth transition.

Check out the new law enforcement edition of Monopoly. The game board features an image I shot for a Maglite advertising campaign. And yes, we used a real police officer for the photoshoot.

I’m in a book

Lou Jacobs Jr., author of more than thirty photography books has a finished a new project and chose Mike Schaffer to be featured in his latest work titled Professional Commercial Photography, Techniques & Images From Master Digital Photographers.

Mike was the first photographer that Jacobs called on when he began his new book. The book explores the world of commercial advertising photography and gives readers an inside look at the industry, the process, and the art form.

Perhaps the connection between Mike’s strict diet of Rockstar and Chipotle burritos as the source of his creative genius will finally be given due credit. We’ll just have to wait and see when the finished product is released at the end of this year.
